The recent trip to Europe had 2 stop overs at Hong Kong to and from Sydney.
My wife was doing some research into hotels that I have stayed at on prior trips, but none of these impressed her. After a couple of weeks, she found this newly refurbished hotel in the heart of TST (Tsim Sha Tsui) called Hotel Mira.
Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and all smiles and at the check in desk, we were offered a deal to upgrade to a better room at a rate of $550 HK per night including a buffet breakfast at the hotel (the exchange rate with the $AUD at that stage was pretty good) so we opt in.
After flying for almost 9 hours with a 1.5 year old on our laps, we were all hungry and tired (we got to the hotel at around 11:00pm), the cot was put up after we got settled in our room, but that really was with minimum fuss. I ordered room service in the form of the ever faithful club sandwich, and was yummy, my wife decided to share that with me after seeing it!
The breakfast buffet, which is a huge thing in most Asian city hotels was quite a good spread, my daughter, though only 1 and half enjoyed an assortment of an English breakfast and some traditional Chinese breakfast thrown into the same sitting.
Oh, have to mention that there is a 2 Michelin star restaurant in the hotel as well, Cuisine Cuisine (we didn’t get a chance to dine there this trip)
The pool and the fitness centre are all situated in the basement levels and deserves a mention, deck chairs surround an infinity pool, at one end, there is a heated spa (which was almost too hot) and all the other amenities close-by.
It is a hotel that I would definitely stay in again, I am very keen to see how it stands the test of time.
